The Hometown Veterinarian is seeking a full-time or part-time Small Animal Veterinarian to join our independently owned, community-focused practice in Marshalltown, Iowa.

How We Practice Medicine
We don’t cut corners—ever.
Every surgical patient receives IV fluids and electronic monitoring
A dedicated staff member is with each patient from sedation through recovery
In-house lab, digital radiography, and dental radiographs
Surgical laser and advanced pain management options
Opportunities for orthopedic and soft tissue surgery
Ultrasound, acupuncture, and expanding capabilities
You’ll have the autonomy and support to pursue your interests—whether that’s surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, or advanced therapies.
We primarily treat dogs and cats, with additional care available for exotic species. Experience with exotics is welcome but not required, and there is flexibility to shape your caseload based on your interests and comfort level.
Surgical responsibilities can be tailored to your experience and interests, with opportunities available for those who wish to pursue advanced procedures.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm
Flexible scheduling available

Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree, with eligibility for licensure in Iowa
Commitment to practicing thorough, high-quality medicine with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a desire to build lasting relationships with clients
Comfort with general medicine and dentistry, with surgical responsibilities tailored to your experience and interests
Ability to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment that values both patient care and client experience
Value taking the time needed to educate clients and guide decision-making
Interest in continued learning and professional growth
Alignment with a practice philosophy that prioritizes patient care, ethics, and consistency over speed or volume
Interest in exotics or advanced procedures is welcome but not required
