What your week looks like
| Day | Hospital hours | Your schedule |
| Monday–Friday | 8:00 am – 5:30 pm | Four days a week |
| Saturday | 8:00 am – 12:00 pm | Every other Saturday |
| Sunday | Closed | Off |
| After hours | Referred to local ER | No emergency calls |
| • | No after-hours emergencies. We close at 5:30 on weekdays and noon on Saturdays. Overnight cases go to nearby emergency and specialty hospitals. |
| • | Less charting, more medicine. An AI scribe drafts your medical records from the appointment, so you finish your notes at work, not at home. |
| • | Same-day urgent care. Walk-ins during the day keep the caseload varied: GI, skin, ears and eyes, wounds and toxin exposures. |
| • | Dogs and cats only. Wellness, dentistry, surgery, urgent care and end-of-life care. |
The medicine you'll practice
| • | Dentistry done right. A dedicated dental suite with full-mouth digital dental radiographs, pre-anesthetic bloodwork and EKG screening, and IV fluids for every dental. |
| • | Careful surgery. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork, pain management and monitoring on every case, in dedicated surgery and procedure spaces. |
| • | Diagnostics in-house. Laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound and laser therapy, with support from board-certified radiologists. |
| • | A comfort room for peaceful goodbyes. |
Who you'll work with
| • | Dr. Elliot Stetzer, Medical Director. A former professor of pathology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Stetzer built his career around dermatology and pathology and has spent years mentoring and teaching future veterinarians. His path began at age 9, volunteering at a local animal clinic near his childhood home. |
| • | Dr. Maria Milhouse. An Iowa State veterinary graduate, class of 2025, Dr. Milhouse has built strong clinical interests in internal medicine, dermatology and cardiology, and she enjoys the challenge of complex medical cases. A new graduate who joins us won't be the only early-career doctor here. |
| • | 11 support staff, including a licensed veterinary technician and Cat Friendly–certified team members. |
