Pet Emergency and Trauma Services (PETS) is an independently-owned, 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital located in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Serving a diverse demographic base from Cabarrus and the surrounding counties requires a collaborative relationship with our area general practices as well as with nearby referral and specialty centers.
We are looking for someone who practices high-quality medicine and understands how to work within a budget when necessary. We recently moved into a newly renovated building and we are well-outfitted with a full suite of Idexx laboratory equipment, Sound digital X-ray system, GE Versana Active ultrasound, Engler ventilator and more!
Job Description:
- Practice emergency veterinary medicine independently, as well as work as a team member in cooperation with other veterinarians and staff.
- Develop and communicate diagnostic and treatment plans for both outpatient and inpatient care
- Manage hospitalized patients collaboratively
- Perform emergency soft tissue surgery including abdominal exploratory, splenectomy, gastropexy, Cesarean section and wound care
- Maintain excellent medical records to share with referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care
- Regular rotating schedule between doctors. Current opening has flexibility for preference of daytime or overnight shifts.

Compensation:
- Guaranteed base salary of $160,000 or more, commensurate with experience
- 22% production paid monthly, no negative accrual
- Sign-on bonus
Requirements
- Ability to use a tongue depressor as a spork
- North Carolina State Veterinary License
- DEA license
- Previous emergency experience or a rotating internship in emergency, surgery and medicine preferred but not required
- Strong medical and soft tissue surgical skills
- An understanding and compassionate, yet ironclad soul
